Zamperla unveils Hypnosiz as a bigger evolution of Nebulaz

2 min read

Zamperla Hypnosiz takes the familiar movement of Nebulaz and builds a larger attraction around it. Unveiled during the manufacturer’s 60th-anniversary celebrations in Italy, the model is intended to attract attention from spectators as well as entertain riders.

According to Blooloop’s launch report, Hypnosiz stands 11.4 metres tall, has a reported 16-metre footprint and accommodates 64 adults. Its maximum theoretical throughput is 650 passengers per hour; actual throughput will depend on how an installation operates.

Passengers face one another, making their reactions part of the experience. Zamperla describes the development as retaining Nebulaz’s distinctive movement while increasing its scale, capacity and visual presence. Simplifying operation and maintenance was also part of the engineering brief.

The reveal does not name a first customer park or public opening date. It also does not establish that the fire effects pictured at the unveiling are a standard ride feature. We would guess not.

For visitors familiar with Nebulaz, the announcement establishes a larger evolution of that concept. How different it feels to ride, and where guests will first be able to try it, remains to be established.

The TT Take:

Nebulaz already makes passers-by stop and stare. The case for Hypnosiz needs to be felt from the seat. Bigger is easy to spot in a photograph. Better takes a ride.
