Universal Beijing Fast & Furious indoor thrill ride confirmed

Universal Beijing’s new Fast & Furious attraction will be a fully indoor thrill ride designed specifically for the resort. Announced on 16 September 2026, alongside a nighttime lagoon spectacular, it marks a substantial addition to the park’s future plans.

Universal describes the attraction as Asia’s first Fast & Furious-themed indoor thrill ride, combining chase sequences and action scenes with immersive environments. It has not confirmed a ride system, technical specifications or opening date. The announcement therefore does not establish whether Beijing is getting a roller coaster.

That distinction matters as Universal develops the franchise’s coaster offering elsewhere. Hollywood’s Fast & Furious: Hollywood Drift opened on 16 September, while a separate coaster is planned for Universal Studios Florida in 2027. Neither announcement confirms the format Beijing will receive. Hollywood opening coverage, Universal’s Orlando announcement

The second Beijing project will use the lagoon at the centre of the park for an evening production combining lighting, music, storytelling and live interaction. Universal has not announced its opening date or detailed show line-up.

Together, the projects promise another attraction to experience during the day and a new reason to stay into the evening. For visitors considering a trip specifically for these additions, dates and further ride details are still needed.

The TT Take:

Fast & Furious has always promised speed. The important detail is whether the ride vehicle gets the memo. TT found Orlando’s Supercharged a disappointing use of the franchise, so an indoor attraction with the physical thrills suggested by Universal’s new coasters would be a much more enticing prospect. Beijing’s announcement earns attention; confirmation of what guests will actually ride will determine whether it earns a place on the travel list.
