First Muppets Rock ’n’ Roller Coaster merchandise revealed
The new range gives fans an early taste of the ride’s Electric Mayhem makeover, but the real test is still the attraction itself.
Disney has revealed the first merchandise for Rock ’n’ Roller Coaster Starring The Muppets, ahead of the reimagined attraction opening at Disney’s Hollywood Studios on 26 May 2026. The range includes six colourful T-shirts featuring Muppet characters including Statler and Waldorf, Miss Piggy, Kermit, Gonzo, Fozzie Bear, Bunsen, Beaker, Scooter and The Electric Mayhem.
The merchandise is the latest preview of the ride’s Muppets transformation, which replaces the former Aerosmith version of the attraction. Disney has also revealed a first look inside the reworked G-Force Records pre-show, including Scooter as the studio’s new manager, penguin Audio-Animatronics and The Electric Mayhem performing “Can You Picture That?” The attraction’s ride vehicles have also been repainted with a brighter, music-led Muppet Labs makeover.
The bigger question is still the ride experience. Rock ’n’ Roller Coaster Starring Aerosmith had its final day on 1 March 2026, with the attraction closing from 2 March 2026 for the Muppets retheme. That gives Disney less than three months between closure and reopening. For a full roller coaster retheme, that is a short turnaround, especially for an attraction with such a strong fan attachment to its original identity.
The TT Take:
The merchandise looks fun, bright and properly Muppets, which is exactly what this re-theme needs on the surface. For fans, though, cute T-shirts are not the verdict. Rock ’n’ Roller Coaster is an iconic Disney thrill ride, and the short closure window makes the depth of the transformation the real story. The thing to watch is not whether the branding works in the gift shop — it is whether the ride itself feels like a fresh Muppets experience, or simply the old coaster in a louder jacket.
