Merlin and Nectar 360

Nectar points can now unlock Merlin days out

Sainsbury’s Nectar360 has launched a new partnership with Merlin Entertainments, allowing Nectar members to spend points on tickets at more than 20 UK Merlin attractions. The offer includes Alton Towers Resort, Thorpe Park, LEGOLAND Windsor Resort, Chessington World of Adventures Resort, the London Eye, SEA LIFE aquariums, Warwick Castle and Cadbury World. Members can also double the value of points on tickets, with £5 worth of Nectar points converting into £10 off Merlin ticket prices.

The partnership matters because it connects everyday supermarket spending with some of the UK’s biggest family days out. At a time when household budgets remain under pressure, turning loyalty points into attraction savings gives families another way to make a Merlin visit feel more achievable. Redemption is handled through the Nectar app, where members select the Merlin offer before booking through the Merlin x Nectar website.

What has not been set out in detail is how useful the offer will feel on the busiest dates, when Merlin’s major parks can already face heavy demand and long queues. The saving is clear. The practical visitor experience will still depend on ticket availability, pricing, capacity and the day families choose to visit.

The TT Take:

For families, this is good news. A day out at a Merlin attraction is rarely cheap, so giving Nectar members a clearer route to discounted tickets is a meaningful win during a cost-of-living squeeze. The trade-off is obvious: if the offer drives more peak-day visits, already busy parks may feel even busier. The thing to watch is whether this becomes a genuinely useful saving on the dates families actually want, not just a nice discount in the app.
