Harryhausen’s Restaurant will give visitors the chance to dine inside a familiar location from Monsters, Inc. when Monstropolis opens at Disney’s Hollywood Studios in 2027. Disney’s latest preview reveals how the table-service venue will combine food inspired by the film’s world with an Audio-Animatronic sushi chef, working eight tentacles in the centre of the dining space.

Alongside sushi, the culinary team is exploring Japanese-inspired ramen with tonkotsu broth and alkaline noodles, adding monster touches such as eyeball-shaped fishcake and green eggs. Nearby, Archie’s Scare Pig Pizza will offer a quick-service alternative inspired by the college hangouts of Monsters University. Disney has also previewed a purple frozen version of the film’s Blort drink, topped with Scream Apple Foam. Full menus, prices and reservation details are not included in this announcement.
The restaurants will form part of a wider land featuring Disney’s first suspended coaster, a new show at the Glob Theater and the Scareporium shop, giving visitors more to explore between rides.
The TT Take:
Eating inside Harryhausen’s is the sort of detail that makes stepping into Monstropolis exciting before anyone has boarded a ride. The octopus chef can handle the spectacle. The kitchen still needs to deliver on the plate. It’s a promising extra for now, with food quality, prices and convincing immersion in the film’s restaurant all needing to come together before it earns a place on the must-book list.
